Talk2Us, to assist your organisation to develop a compelling narrative, understand the sentiment surrounding the current narrative and develop programs for your people to adopt, that will promote the narrative and the stories built around it.

A narrative is a sequence of events. It has no standard form or structure. No distinct beginning or end. Narratives are not analytical or critical, they are just the way in which we as humans attempt to impose order on the chaotic uncertainty of the condition of being a human, in a world where there is no certainty. Organisations, as individuals, have myriads of narratives. These narratives form the strands of the cultural fabric of the organisation and influence the attitudes of the people within. We all participate in the many narratives that occur during our relationships with each other.

A story is a structured narrative. It has a setting (often the narrative) a beginning, characters, a middle, a problem, a solution and an end. All stories are narratives, but not all narratives are stories. A story serves the narrative, not the other way around. If the story is disconnected from the broader narrative it is mere entertainment. A narrative without a story is merely information. Narratives need stories to create context, emotion and meaning.

Why are Narratives important?

Narratives form the personality of an organisation. Organisations without personalities struggle to find followers. Relationships are built on sharing personality traits.
