The business was born out of a firm belief in the distinctive benefits of including all stakeholders in organisational delivery and success. In addition to our specialist expertise and experience, we manage our clients’ projects like our own, always considering that there are individual goals, specific needs and hopes behind every action taken.

In 1990, Linda started an IT business selling, implementing and supporting ERP software. She built it up to a national organisation with a staff of 55, and sold it to a JSE-listed company ten years later. In 2000, motivated by her philosophy around employee engagement, Linda launched Talk2Us, a strategic consultancy, focussed on building brands from the inside out. Through Linda’s adept business acumen and insight, and a professional fired-up team, Talk2Us has grown exponentially to a multi-client corporate organisation, much in demand, and much admired. Her ability to work with executives to identify, initiate and execute programmes that use the disciplines of digital branding and marketing, attention grabbing communication, powerful customer experience programmes and fully aligned people development plans is invaluable in the process of building your brand confidence across your stakeholder groups. Providing strategic, tactical and operational engagement interventions to its blue chip clients. Linda is a proponent of the importance of internal engagement, and what she calls ’the authenticity gap’ – the gap between what you say you do, and what you actually do. If what you say and what you do are not aligned there can be no authenticity. As a result, the brand and its promise cannot be trusted – nor can your business. Linda practises what she preaches, and her spirited enthusiasm permeates throughout the company.

René has over 25 years’ of business experience, 20 of which in various senior executive roles and 10 of those as executive director of a listed entity. Her key responsibility over the last 10 years, was strategy development and execution, in C-suite positions like CE of Central Services and Chief of Staff. She is an INTERIM EXECUTIVE and STRATEGY ENABLER who works with, and in, your top team to define strategic intent and drive execution. A high level advisor and sounding board, a practical implementer, a creative problem solver, a multi-tasker, facilitator and excellent interpersonal relationship manager. As a business leader, you want your vision to be turned into results. You want strategy to be defined and executed. You need a right hand person to focus on implementation while you focus on shaping the vision and growing the business. Her ultimate strength is to LEAD THE DOING. 25 years of business executive experience, a Type A personality, intelligence, professional approach and reputation for execution, position her perfectly for realising her personal goal of being a highly successful freelance executive; with the backing of the Talk2Us team.

Charles began his career in 1987 with the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, as a Works and Estate Clerk. Even at that early stage he showed a large measure of business acumen, and soared rapidly upwards in the ranks to head up the Durban office, managing properties for what we now know as Telkom. When Telkom outsourced properties to TFMC, Charles took over the responsibility of establishing the TFMC Centurion Call Centre and Client Relationship Management, with a staff complement of 50. It was there he met Linda Hamman, who was helping with the CRM strategy: he was converted to her belief that people and behaviours were the key. A move to Talk2Us was the obvious course - investing in a growing business. Among his busy, pivotal executive role in the company today, Charles found time recently to establish its in-house Web-based Communication Communication Division – of which he is Director-in-charge. In addition, Charles is a Leadership Development Facilitator, specialising in Internal Communication, Organisational Development, and Training practices. He has worked with clients with a variety of industries, combined with his passion for the development and transformation of individuals and teams, as well as leveraging the use of technology in the Corporate Communication space; position him distinctively in the training and development industry.

Jackie came to South Africa in 1982, and has worked in the financial and administration field for six companies based in various industries. She joined Talk2Us at its beginning, and is the company’s Financial Director, managing all financial and administration tasks. Jackie is one of the vital pillars supporting the Talk2Us edifice. In the early days of Talk2Us, if something had to be done, and it couldn’t be slotted into a particular portfolio, it was left to Jackie! On top of her financial activities, it was Jackie who did the scheduling of training courses, the purchasing of corporate gifts, assisting with event management, dealing with suppliers, etc., etc., etc.! As the company grew, so came additional staff to take some off the weight – except that the financial management side of Talk2Us nowadays is arduous enough to keep her very busy.

Matthew continues to work in education and is a strong advocate of the Arts. Matthew has established himself as an upcoming director, producer and a zesty creative. A great supporter and producer of the Arts, Matthew also sits on the main judging panel of the Naledi Theatre Awards.
